Wisconsin Organization of Spacemodeling HobbyistsBrian Cieslak's 14AL-2000 Launch Report

I haven't had such a good time flying rockets in a long time.  The friendliness of the group made this very enjoyable.  Nothing like standing in the middle of a wet field for a bonding experience.  I am sorry I finally lost my Centrix but I did pick up a few new pets while walking around in the grass.

This was my first contest so I had learned a lot.  (Use bigger streamer and Tracking powder in a centrix), How to fit a 13 inch parachute in a 10.5mm body tube, and never pass up a chance to take part in the OSL event.)  Another valuable lesson I learned was how bad a sunburn one can get.  Its been a long time since I had one this bad.

The highlight was timing Chad Ring's Streamer Duration record attempt.  I watched the Superoc competition from under my van.  The only other safe place was at a tracking station as long as you didn't get shot by a hunter or attacked by one of their dogs.

My wife also had a good time and commented on how friendly the folks were and how much fun they were having.  I even caught her trying to figure out how to squeeze two eggs into here MegaSizz after we got home.

I am looking forward to seeing the final results as I didn't make it to the award dinner.

See you all at ECOF (or the next meeting)!
