Wisconsin Organization of Spacemodeling HobbyistsDean Roth's 04-15-00 Launch Report

The day started with a chill and wind.  At about noon the sky cleared and the wind dropped.

The last time I checked there were 119 registered fliers at Three Oaks.  The ground was dry.  The clothes I wore on Saturday must have at least three pounds of southwestern Michigan soil dust in them, and another 10 pounds in my car.

Three Oaks was managed better than two years ago.  It's still not as good as TWA.

Dave, I got three centering rings for you, but no bulkheads.

I planned to buy motors, but none of the motors that I want were available.

Most flights were H/I. A few J's.  A couple M's.  Lots of people, but not as broad a range of rockets and motors as at a TWA launch.  Nobody uses a rail (but me).

Addendum

Apogee micro motors really do burn!  I got five to ignite on the first try after drilling out the nozzle to clean the clay from the BP.
