Whether you are a first time competitor, a grizzled veteran, a long time MWRC participant, or just want to have a good time flying rockets and competing at one of the most storied launch sites in the Midwest, make your plans to attend now. Come and participate in this historic competition series held at Bong Recreation Area. MWRC started in 1979 and was hosted by NIRA (Northern Illinois Rocketry Association). For the next decade, Midwest sections with many top competitors did battle at MWRC for the right to claim top honors for the Midwest region. Six years ago, WOOSH resurrected MWRC and brought it back to where it started, Bong Recreation Area. Since then, contestants from several states including Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, and Indiana have participated. Contestants from WOOSH, Launch Crue, MASA, and NIRA all have joined in the fun. This year we want to make MWRC bigger and better and are reaching out to all sections and NAR members in the Midwest to come join us for a weekend of friendly competition and sport flying.

the end of flying. Pizza and drinks will be served with the cost divided
among the participants.
An awards banquet will occur immediately following the close of the range
Sunday at a local restaurant. Directions will be provided at the meet.
After the meal is finished, places will be announced and ribbons awarded
to the top four places in each event.
We strongly encourage all contestants to serve three hours of range duty
over the two days. A range duty sign up roster will be available at the
range head. Range duty positions include LCO, RSO, check-in/returns,
timers, and trackers.
Range equipment provided includes the WOOSH multiple pad launch controller
(up to 24 pads). Launch pads for model rockets, larger model rockets, and
high power rockets will be provided including 1/8", 3/16", ¼", ½" rods and
standard rails. You are welcome to bring your own tower.
