Meeting minutes from March 26, 2003
The Treasurer’s Report.
Mark Stehlik would like to spend some time after the April sod farm launch to pick up trash on the grounds. We don’t put it there but we can help out the Geipels and clean up the litter that accumulates over the winter months.
After much discussion a motion to charge non - members $10 and members $5.00 for “F” motor launches or larger at our “Organized” launches was made by Mark Stehlik seconded by Fred Jarosch and passed unanimously.
The Pratt Surefire launch box came back from Pratt hobbies in non – working condition. Dean Roth installed a new switch and piezo buzzer. Receipts for reimbursement have been forwarded to our Treasurer.
Dan Wolf announced 14AL events. All events with the exemption of Drag race are NARAM events.
The events are: PMC, CSRA, AHD, OSL, BPD MR., and drag race.
The events will be announce on the email list for comments and then ratified by the Contest director after one week.
We discussed the need for additional pad boxes. We have 12 now 11 of which are functional. It would be great to have more before ECOF this year. David Go volunteered to spearhead the effort to build 12 more pad boxes. Dan Wolf will work with David to order the parts needed.
Jerry Selensky and Fred Jarosch volunteered to donate another jump starter type battery pack to the club. Thanks, guys!
The upcoming Space day launch was discussed. It would be neat to have a scale space flight alley on display all day.
Scott Goebel suggested we fly scale models at certain times during the day. Start with a Mercury Redstone, then a Gemini Atlas, perhaps a Saturn 1B, Saturn V, working our way through the progress of the space program all the way up to the Space shuttle. Does anyone have a flying Space shuttle?
Will anyone have any of the Apogee kits done in time for this launch? HMMMMM.
The next Make it take it is set for May 3rd. from 1 – 5pm. GFN&H will begin signing kids up to do it. Scott Hansen has some bulk packs available for the club to purchase at a discount rate and give away to the kids at the launch. It was suggested that we make two motors available to each kid that brings their rocket to the Space Day launch.
Jim Moroney joined the club at the meeting. He is interested in helping us with our promotion of the space day launch and is willing to do PR. Work for the club.
A big welcome, thanks for the help Jim!
