Mars Lander Challenge
Competition
Purpose:
The Mars Lander
Challenge is a variation of Sport Scale minus the flight portion of judging.
The purpose of this contest is to introduce fellow NAR members to your
personal vision of what the next generation of Mars Landers would look like.
Entries will be required to document the mission of their lander with a one
page written description of the lander for all NARCON attendees to judge.
Judging of the contest will be by a popular vote of the attendees on
Saturday afternoon.
Exclusions:
Subjects excluded from
this event:

Kit’s or models constructed
by plans obtained from a third party are to be disqualified.

modeled. Data should be given in the one page written brief as to the
vehicles’ mission on Mars, how the vehicle would be delivered to the Martian
surface, and where the vehicle originated.
Flight:
There are no flight points to be scored
for this event and any efforts made by the modeler to make their vehicle
flight worthy are to be disregarded in the judging.
Scoring:
Scoring is to be
deliberated by the NARCON 2006 attendees between the hours of 1 pm. To 4 pm.
On Saturday, March 11, 2006. A tally of the popular voting for first,
second, and third place entries will be counted and presented at the
Saturday evening gathering before the keynote speaker address. Prizes are to
be determined by the NARCON 2006 staff.
