Bio: Matt Steele

Matt Steele has many accomplishments as a model rocketeer, including:

bullet

Winner of two team gold medals, three team silvers and two individual bronze medals in international competition;
 

bullet

Five time national champion and nine time reserve champion in NAR competition;
 

bullet

NAR Trustee for nine years, helping the NAR incorporate high power;
 

bullet

President and co-founder of North Coast Rocketry, one of the leading high power model rocket manufacturers;
 

bullet

Marketing manager at Estes Industries;
 

bullet

And model rocketeer since 1967!

Professionally, Matt holds a BS in Physics and an MBA in Technology Management. Matt has worked at both Hercules and Thiokol that manufacture solid rocket motors for missiles and space launch vehicles. Matt also was the lead propulsion engineer at Orbital Sciences’s Pegasus, Taurus, Minotaur, and Hyper-X launch vehicles. Matt currently is a manager of business development at Orbital (Chandler, AZ), working to bring in new programs.
